Maize provides 50% of the forage requirements for Alan (pictured) and Ruth Carpenters 550-strong milking goat herd, which supplies Crewkerne-based Lubborn Creamery, makers of the highly successful Capricorn soft cheese brand. Both maize and grass silage are produced using the AgBag sealed storage system, minimizing waste and ensuring the goats receive the spoilage-free forage necessary to keep them in good health and milking well. Maize produced on a total of around 30 acres plus three cuts of grass silage from a similar acreage provides sufficient forage for year-round feeding of a total herd of 900 goats, including youngstock. - Ends - July 24, 2008 Further information from: Paul Billings British Seed Houses (0117 982 3691 HYPERLINK "http://www.bshagriculture.com" www.bshagriculture.com Issued by Matt Mellor, ABC Ltd (01694 731777 E-mail: matt@abccomms.co.uk The text of this news release can be downloaded directly from the ABC Press Centre (Agriculture/News page) at www.abccomms.co.uk % 67XY mHsH0JjU jU j(5%&89X $p^p`a$$a$$a$ $Tdh`Ta$$dha$ $a$,1h/ =!"#$% DyK www.bshagriculture.comyK Vhttp://www.bshagriculture.com/yX;H,]ą'c i@@@ Normal CJOJQJ_HaJmH sH tH <A@< Default Paragraph Font@O@ Balloon TextCJOJQJ^JaJ.U@.
